The TechnoGabay actors of the Caraga Consortium for
Agriculture, Forestry and Resources Research and Development (CCARRD) have
scheduled a Field Trip in Bohol last March 6-11, 2011 headed by Mr.
Rodel G. Pasion, RTG Coordinator, as part of the
continuing education of TechnoGabay Program.
Fourteen participants joined and learned
the aral tour which composed of the 7
FITS Managers, 2 FITS Staff, 1 PMA Focal Person, 1 RACG Member, 1 RTD from
DA-RFU 13, RTG Coordinator and the Techno Gabay Staff.
The main objective of the
said Lakbay Aral is for the FITS Managers, PMA Focal persons and FITS Staff to
see firsthand on the roles of a FITS Center and the activities done
particularly on the implementation aspect.
First stop, a visit to
Bohol ProFITS (Provincial FITS), the mother of the FITS Centers in Bohol. Everyone
was pleased with the technical operations of the FITS Centers. The group was also
able to visit the following FITS Centers; Loboc FITS Center, Bohol Island State
University (Partner Member Agency), FITS Batuan and Ubay-Agri Park FITS Center
(one of the outstanding FITS Center honored by PCARRD) and its different
projects.
Almost all of the
municipalities of Bohol have already adopted the FITS Center; indicating that a
strong support from their local government has been implemented. The very
secret of their success are commitment, linkages and support from Local
Government Units (LGUs) and their member agencies.
Indeed, it was a learning
and fun Lakbay Aral. The TG Team hoped to adopt what has been implemented in
Bohol FITS Centers.
